Fortunately, yes, they do reimburse me. So, frankly, I'm not bother TOO much by the cost. The problem is that I pay now and get reimbursed in a few months.

I need that money now! I have an electronic gadget obsession to feed! LOL

$375 for ACLS. Where are you taking this? I've taken it in Ontario and various US states, and even a private class cost less than that ($220). Yikes. No wonder your bank account is hurting. Does your hosp reimburse you?

Nah...not worried about BLS as I've done it every year for six years now. It's just a pain in the ass, and I have to spend a precious day off doing it! :)

1. Don't worry about BLS - it is covered in ACLS
2. Don't worry about that worthless textbook. Learn the algorithms and study what each medication does and especially epi, lido, and atropine. I've been through ACLS twice and it is a lot to take in. Get what you can out of it, and study as much as you have time for, but don't lose any sleep over it.

Sean,
If it makes you feel any better, the year I graduated from nursing school:
May: I graduated school - went on a weeks vacation- started the new ICU job - critical care courses
June: studied for boards - passed boards (that includes my future wife)
August: bought our first house
Sept: got married - honeymoon in vegas - ACLS

Anything is possible.

Stay strong my friend.
